This fascinating story in three parts first appeared in Wayne Ellwood's Shark Quarterly magazine in 1998. They are reprinted here with Mr. Ellwood's permission. 

The articles detail how the brothers Dave and Jim Herlinger came to first race, then sell, then recover and restore, two (and almost all three!) of James Garner's (yes, that James Garner) American International Racing COPO 1968 L88 Corvettes.
